"Ye field flowers! the gardens eclipse you 'tis true: Yet wildings of nature, I dote upon you, For ye waft me to summers of old, When the earth teem'd around me with fairy delight, And when daisies and buttercups gladden'd my sight, Like treasures of silver and gold."

About Pansies

The pansy or pansy violets are cultivated as garden ornamental plants. These flowers can be found even in Romania. They have varied colors like yellow, violet, gold, purple orange, red, white and even black, many with large showy face markings. A large number of bicoloured flowers have also been produced. They are generally very cold hardy plants surviving freezing even during their blooming period. Pansies grow very well in sunny or even partially sunny places in well draining soils. The pansy flower has two top petals going over each other slightly, two side petals, three lower petals join the center of the flower, and a single bottom petal with a slight marking.
